Entry qualification

High school / secondary education (or higher) N. B. for non-EU/EFTA applicants: the gap since your completed secondary degree should not exceed five years. Important: additional country-specific requirements are set only for the following countries which you can find HERE (STEP 2). The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Translation is considered to be official when it is bound together with the certified true copy of the original document and is confirmed by the translator’s signature. Documents issued in English or Lithuanian must be certified true copies and do not require translation.

Language requirements

English The following language certificates are accepted for study programmes taught in English: IELTS Academic 5.5+, TOEFL iBT 46+, Cambridge English exam 160+, Pearson PTE Academic 59+, LanguageCert IESOL B2, Duolingo English Test 95+ or another language proficiency certificate equivalent to B2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). If you are a native speaker and/or if the English language was the medium of instruction in your previous studies, you will be exempt from providing an English language test score.

Overview

With its relevant content and rich history, this programme aims at training qualified critically and creatively thinking specialists, who have:

- solid ground in linguistics, literary studies, translation and intercultural communication;

- excellent knowledge of Russian culture and history, understanding of the peculiarities of social media;

- skills to create and analyse texts of various styles, and to evaluate Russian language, literature and cultural phenomena in literary, scientific, socio-cultural geopolitical, and geo-cultural contexts of Europe and the world.

Studies with a perfect balance of language and literature also provide knowledge of other Central and East European countries literature and culture.

The programme is flexible and open to students’ interests – it allows them to choose Minor studies of any other language and its culture, to choose various subjects from different fields, or to direct their studies towards linguistics or literature studies.

A universal humanities education and specific practical skills open up a wide range of employment opportunities in cultural, educational, media and other fields.
